Housekeeping 247 Ltd is committed to protecting the health and safety of our clients, staff, and the wider public. We maintain strict infection control protocols and provide trained personnel for the safe handling, cleaning, and disposal of biohazards. This policy applies across all services, including end of tenancy, fogging, trauma cleans, and emergency call-outs.
Prevent the spread of infectious diseases, including viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens
Provide clear procedures for dealing with known or suspected contamination
Ensure safe, compliant cleaning, disinfection, and waste disposal in all scenarios
Protect our operatives through proper training, PPE, and equipment
All operatives:
Receive infection control training, including bloodborne pathogen awareness
Are instructed on the proper use and disposal of PPE
Are required to report illness symptoms before attending site
Understand decontamination procedures for personal and professional safety
Depending on the task, staff are equipped with:
Disposable gloves (nitrile or latex)
Face masks (surgical or FFP2/FFP3)
Goggles or face shields
Disposable coveralls or aprons
Overshoes or disposable footwear
Biohazard bags for safe waste transport
All PPE is single-use unless otherwise stated and disposed of immediately after use in appropriate containers.
When dealing with known or suspected contamination:
A full risk assessment is conducted prior to entry
All areas are sectioned off as needed and clearly marked
Touchpoints are cleaned and disinfected using approved virucidal/bactericidal agents
Cleaning follows the principle of “clean to dirty” zones, top to bottom
Any biohazardous material is bagged in yellow sacks, double-bagged if needed
A fogging machine or ULV sprayer may be used where appropriate (with client consent)
We use only COSHH-assessed products rated for:
EN 14476: Virucidal activity
EN 1276: Bactericidal activity
EN 1650: Fungicidal activity
Products are applied as per manufacturer guidance, with contact dwell times strictly observed.
Our team is trained and equipped to respond to:
Blood and bodily fluids
Needlestick or sharps incidents
Hoarding or pest-infested environments
Crime scene or trauma clean-ups
Infectious disease outbreaks (e.g. COVID-19, norovirus, MRSA)
Biohazard waste is stored in sealed, marked containers
Disposal is arranged through licensed hazardous waste carriers
Paper trail and waste transfer notes are maintained as required by law
Carried out only by trained personnel
All surfaces pre-cleaned of visible debris beforehand
Area remains sealed for required dwell time post-fog
Clients receive a treatment certificate and safety data sheet (SDS)
Staff remove PPE safely and wash thoroughly
All reusable equipment is disinfected or quarantined as appropriate
Vehicles used are wiped down and ventilated between jobs
